As part of the Workforce Australia - Self-Employment Assistance program, you can receive a Business Health Check for your existing small business at no cost to you. 

 Our Asuria Business Mentors will assess how your small business is currently running and help you find ways to improve your business.

Does your business need a Business Health Check?

Through the Self-Employment Assistance program, you can access a Business Health Check at no cost to you. As an existing small business owner,  you can access guidance from our highly experienced Business Mentors, where you will develop an action plan to ensure your business is on the path to success. 

Over a three-hour, one-on-one session with a Business Mentor,  we will assess the viability of your small business, provide suggestions on opportunities for improvement and recommend relevant local business support services you can utilise to take your business to the next level.

Please note there is only a limited number of free Business Health Checks available under the Self-Employment Assistance program. Places will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  Click the button below to register for your free Business Health Check.

Business Health Checks at no cost to you


Through the government funded Self-Employment Assistance program, our Business Health Checks are personalised to your needs and the needs of your small business, at no cost to you.

We can assist you with (but not limited to):

  • Finance: Analyse your key measures, including cashflow, profit and loss, expenses, planning and record keeping
  • Business Modelling: Explore your value proposition, competitor analysis, supply chain analysis and consideration of industry trends
  • Risk Assessment:  Assist with evaluating business compliance, licenses and regulations, insurances and other potential risks
  • Performance: Avenues for improvement by helping you develop a business action plan, including a marketing strategy
  • People and Culture: Assist with improving business relationships, team culture and employee wellbeing
  • Networking: Provide you with the tools, confidence and avenues to engage with like-minded small business owners, industries and relevant organisations

Our Business Mentors have over 400 combined years of running their own businesses

Our Asuria Business Mentors have walked in your shoes,  with 400 combined years of running their own businesses across 40 industries. Now they  have turned their focus to mentoring, and are here to share all their self-employment experiences with you as dedicated Business Mentors. 

When you team up with an Asuria Business Mentor, they can offer advice, support and guidance, which can help you improve your
problem-solving skills and empower you with the right tools and tips to set your business up for success.

Business Mentors will increase the success of your business. They are a great support for any person growing an existing  business.

Are you eligible?


Before signing up for a Business Health Check, we will need to assess if you and your small business is eligible for the program. 

Individual Eligibility

Business Eligibility
  • Be at least 15 years of age (noting that a person must be 18 years of age to access Small Business Coaching)
  • Not be prohibited by law from working in Australia
  • Not be an overseas visitor on a working holiday visa or an overseas student studying in Australia
  • Not be an undischarged bankrupt
  • Currently be running your own small business (up to 4 employees) 
  • Be assessed as viable by an Asuria Business Mentor
  • Have an independent business structure
  • Be lawful and capable of withstanding public scrutiny
  • Be established, located, and operated solely within Australia
  • Be structured so you will maintain a controlling interest over the business through your time accessing the program

Expert Mentors

We have 10 years of proven Self-Employment Assistance service delivery (previously known as NEIS), providing business training and support from start-up concept to completion. 

Fine Tuning Your Ideas

Ensures all participants make informed decisions, including expert analysis, advice and best approach to ensure success.

Income Support

39 weeks of Self-Employment Assistance income support and 26 weeks of rental assistance (for eligible participants only). You can also receive a $300 reimbursement to assist with your eligible business costs (such as business insurance). 

Small Business Training

Achieve an accredited qualification, with flexible learning options along the way so that you can succeed in your small business goals. 

12 Months of Support

Including a Self-Employment Workshop, help to develop a business plan, small business coaching, one-on-one advice sessions with your expert mentor and business health checks. 

Local Service Delivery

Easy to access administration and services team including locally based coordinators, Business Mentors and trainers.
