Each year, the Enterprising Heart Awards shine a light on the individuals who go above and beyond to support our participants, uplift their colleagues and strengthen our programs. Among these honours, the Rookie of the Year Award celebrates someone who has made a remarkable contribution in their first year with Asuria.
In 2025, we are proud to recognise Charlotte Storey, Student Experience Specialist based in Chatswood, as Asuria’s Rookie of the Year. Charlotte has demonstrated initiative, leadership and care well beyond her tenure, embodying our Enterprising Heart guiding principle of ‘Titles Don’t Talk’.
From her very first days, Charlotte proved that leadership is defined not by position, but by action.
Charlotte joined Asuria during a period of realignment within the training team, when responsibilities were shifting and new processes were being established. As a newcomer still learning her role, she could easily have stayed within the boundaries of her position. Instead, she identified gaps, saw opportunities and stepped in to provide support where it was most needed.
Recognising the need for consistent management of enrolment inquiries through HubSpot, Charlotte took ownership of a key process that affected teams across the organisation. She monitored new leads daily, improved communication templates and ensured prospective students received timely, clear and professional support. Her proactive work directly contributed to increased conversions and a more efficient enrolment experience for participants.
Charlotte’s willingness to learn and take initiative quickly expanded her capabilities. She took responsibility for Self-Employment Assistance inquiries, sought out information across departments, and built the knowledge she needed to confidently guide participants through enrolment, extensions and completion.
Importantly, she did not keep this knowledge to herself. Charlotte trained colleagues on how to manage HubSpot processes, enabling the workload to be shared more effectively and strengthening collaboration across the team. Her actions helped build a more connected, supportive working environment where time sensitive tasks were managed with consistency and accuracy.
Beyond systems and processes, Charlotte has had a notable impact on participants themselves. She provided one on one support to individuals facing digital literacy challenges, guiding them through applications and online learning systems with patience and encouragement. She reached out to participants who missed classes or appeared disengaged, offering practical solutions to help them reconnect with their training.
Her approach built trust, increased engagement and contributed to a reduction in withdrawals. Participants felt supported not only academically but personally, thanks to her empathy and genuine commitment to their progress.
Within her first six months, Charlotte supported important improvements to internal systems, including the testing and refinement of the Trainer Tracker update. This work helped improve commencement and completion rates at a time of increased referrals, strengthening the overall training experience for participants.
She also took full ownership of Career Transition Assistance processes, managing follow ups, tracking progress and ensuring timely reporting. During periods of high demand, she successfully supported additional Employability Skills Training groups, managing complex and time sensitive tasks with confidence and attention to detail.
Remarkably, Charlotte achieved all of this while completing her own studies as a trainee, showing resilience, commitment and a strong drive to grow in her role.
Charlotte has shown that you do not need a leadership title to have a leadership impact. Through her initiative, her collaborative approach and her genuine care for both colleagues and participants, she has demonstrated what it means to lead from wherever you stand.
Her work strengthens our programs, improves the learner experience and supports the success of teams across the organisation. Charlotte’s example reflects the best of Asuria and inspires us all to take ownership, innovate and bring our Enterprising Heart to every opportunity.
We congratulate Charlotte, Asuria’s 2025 Rookie of the Year, for her remarkable contribution and for the positive impact she has made in such a short time.
