Through our employment services, we’ve assisted countless Indigenous jobseekers into meaningful, exciting and enjoyable work.
Recently, through our Indigenous Mentoring team and a community referral, we collaborated with the department store, David Jones.
Our Indigenous Mentoring Program provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander jobseekers with pre-employment training, support and mentoring to ensure they’re motivated and confident to achieve sustainable long-term employment. Within our Indigenous Mentoring Team, are a group of dedicated and experienced local experts in Indigenous employment services.
Through an exciting zoom meeting during the peak of COVID-19, we were encouraged by David Jones to send over our job-ready Indigenous jobseekers, for them to train and employ.
Currently, we have two of our remarkable jobseekers, Allira and Bronwyn, joining the David Jones team. Both Allira and Bronwyn are enjoying their new roles, as they continue to shine and excel.
With over 47 stores nationally, David Jones is looking forward to a future working with us, to continue providing employment opportunities to Indigenous Australians.
Since our initial communications, our PeoplePlus Indigenous Mentoring team has kept in close and regular contact with the David Jones staff to assist where we can.
We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the David Jones team and to be working towards improving the lives of as many jobseekers as we can. There are plenty of exciting opportunities to come from this new relationship, and we’re looking forward to seeing this dynamic grow.
Not only are we getting to guide our Indigenous jobseekers in finding and keeping a job, but we’re also working to support a well-loved Australian business grow.
